The towns of Grottoes and Craigsville are included in the county as well as several unincorporated communities and although considered independent of Augusta, the cities of Staunton and Waynesboro both fully lie within the county’s boundaries. Roughly 75,000 people reside in Augusta County and contribute to its vibrant, diverse community.
