Betsy began teaching school in January 1977. Throughout her career, she taught First, Second and Third Grade. Betsy's mother, Madeline Heatwole and her oldest Brother, Frank Andrew Heatwole were both in real estate careers at the time. Betsy soon developed an interest in real estate as well and took required courses to obtain her license starting her real estate career in July of 1985. In 1987, Betsy made real estate her full time career.
June 1977 - B.S. in Early Childhood Education and Minor in Business Administration from James Madison University.
August 1985 - Coldwell Banker Horsley and Constable.
February 1987 - Awarded a trip to the Coldwell Banker national meeting in Florida for being the most improved agent for the year.
1989 and 1990 - Secretary for the Harrisonburg Rockingham Association of Realtors
Served on the Awards Committee and Chaired the Grievence Committee for the Harrisonburg Rockingham Association of Realtors.
2003 - Coldwell Banker International Diamond Society
2004 - Coldwell Banker International Sterling Society
2005 - Coldwell Banker Diamond Society
Each year Betsy makes a donation to our local Image to Recovery. A portion of her income from each real estate closing goes towards this fund. Betsy's goal is to see a cure for cancer and to help cancer patients pay for items needed during their cancer recovery period.
